Cinderella
When I went to see Cinderella last week, a huge smile spread across my face during one of the beginning scenes. Ella's father returns from business in Paris and Ella is very excited to see him. And do you know what? He speaks French to her! I bet all of my students will be able to understand most of his words (and perhaps learn a few more). Let me know in the comment section below.
One of the benefits of learning another language is using it to gain a better understanding of literature and the arts. Even when one learns a few common phrases in French, doors are opened. A student will display a much deeper understanding when reading books (or viewing movies), whether they are from the classic or from modern literature.

This week, the grade 3 students finished their mini-books (Qu'est-ce que tu porte en hiver?) and Mrs. Bennett's class had a chance to play Bingo à l'ecole.
The grade 1 and 2 students started a new mini-book called Dans mon sac à dos. On the last page, students can add anything new to their sac à dos.
