This week, the students are learning all about "April Fool's Day". After doing a bit of research on the internet, we discovered a few interesting facts and how April Fool's Day is part of the France's history. Here are some screen shots from a powerpoint:
Madame Pallesen was able to tape a paper fish to a number of students' backs as they entered the French room today (and no one noticed!!). It wasn't until the last slide that the students caught on! She had a lot of fun shouting "POISSON d'AVRIL" when the students started to find a paper fish on their own back, or a classmate's back! Everyone had a good laugh!
Although the internet contains a lot of information, it is a bit of a mystery as to why a fish is part of April Fool's day in France. There are many theories.
